We are delighted to welcome you to the inaugural Nursing and Engineering Innovation Forum, hosted by the Nursing and Engineering Innovation Center at the University of Connecticut. This event brings together thought leaders, researchers, nurses, healthcare professionals, engineers, students and innovators overall, to explore the future of improving health with the assistance of new and innovative technologies.

The Nursing and Engineering Innovation Center was founded in July 2023 with a mission to foster and advance healthcare, workforce, and economic development through nursing and engineering interdisciplinary collaborations. By merging the sciences of nursing with engineering, we strive to ideate, create, and work toward commercializing evidence-based healthcare technologies that address clinical unmet needs and enhance healthcare quality.

At the University of Connecticut, the School of Nursing and the College of Engineering are both recognized for their leadership in innovation within their respective fields around the world. The Nursing and Engineering Innovation Center amplifies this leadership by uniting the clinical insights and real-world experience of nurses with the technical expertise of engineers. This synergy is critical to the ideation and development of technologies that improve healthcare outcomes.

Today’s forum is an opportunity to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build lasting partnerships. Our agenda features insightful presentations, engaging discussions, and an exciting pitch competition designed to inspire collaboration and drive progress. We are honored to host an esteemed lineup of speakers and presenters who exemplify the innovation and impact of our center.
Thank you for joining us. We hope this Forum sparks new connections, fosters creative thinking, and sets the stage for transformative innovations. We hope you leave inspired and ready to collaborate across disciplines to drive meaningful change.

With warmest regards,

Drs. Daneshmandi and Kelley
